I think that fireworks should be banned.

Fireworks are dangerous. The fire from the fireworks might burn somebody badly.

Fireworks make lots of noise. Animals could get frightened and run away.

Fireworks are also bad for the air and could make a hole in the ozone layer.

That is why I think that fireworks should be banned.

Some people are not sensible with the fireworks. Some animals get killed because of this. Things could get destroyed. People could get burnt and fires could start.

WATER CARNIVAL ICE

On Thursday we had the swimming carnival. I thought my mum was coming but she wasn’t. I felt quite sad about that but I was glad that all of the other adults cheered which was good.

When I got out I got splashed. When I got some choosing time I didn’t actually do choosing time. I just sat down and had a chat to Arlo. A girl splashed us by kicking.

I can’t wait until next time we have a swimming carnival.

FUN IN THE POOL

Room 14 had their swimming carnival. When I got into my togs I sat down and I listened to my teacher. When I was at the pool I did a starfish. It was fun and tiring. After the starfish I did the piggyback race. That is my favourite game in the pool.

After I did the piggyback race I did the underwater race. I really, really, really liked the underwater race. It was fun. After I did the underwater race I did the kickboard length. That is really tiring. After the kickboard race I did the over arm length. It was fun.

It was fun at the swimming carnival. It was really, really fun!

Last week on Thursday the swimming carnival was held in the school pool. I was so nervous when I got in the pool. I shivered like mad. I came 3rd in two races, over arm and underwater swim.

Mum and Grandma came. The pool was icy except you could not walk on it. Next time it is going to be even more crazy.

FUN SWIMMING

Last week on Thursday Room 14 did a swimming carnival. When I first got in it was freezing. After that I put my head underwater and then it was more freezing.

The first event Room 14 and Room 9 did was a front starfish and it was exciting. Then I did a kickboard length. In that race I think a person in Room 13 won the race. After that I did a kickboard width but I don’t know who won that race. Then we did another race and I think Lucy won in that race. Then it was boys turn and they did a kickboard length. I think Finny won in that race. Then they did a kickboard width and I don’t know who won that race. Then we did the last thing and that was the underwater. That was exciting because I won that race and my mum was watching me swim.

I can’t wait to do it again.

FUN SWIMMING CARNIVAL

Last week on Thursday Room 14 had their swimming carnival. I went first in the starfish. When we did the piggyback race Lydia was my partner and then we shook hands underwater.

My favourite event was underwater swimming. I tried to hold my breath for longest. Other people bet me but I tried my hardest.

When I hopped out of the pool I felt freezing but then my mum and dad came to get me. I felt extraordinary.

I can not wait until next year’s swimming carnival.

Last week on Thursday Room 14 had our swimming carnival. We got dressed in the classroom. After we got changed we put sunblock on. Then we headed up to the pool. We put our towel on the grass and sat on it. Then we had to hop in the pool and we did the starfish. I was excited.

Next we did the piggyback race. My partner was Ebony. I think we came second. Next we did the kickboard width. Next we did the over arm length race. Lucy won! Then we did the kickboard length and Lucy won again! Next we did the over arm length. I came third. Finally we did the underwater swim. Ebony came first.

I wish we could do it again.

I lost in the underwater race. The event I liked most was the piggyback. I was happy at the end.

Last week the Pohutukawa Syndicate had a swimming carnival at the school pool. First I was feeling nervous and then I was feeling happy. I came last in all of the races. My friend Ebony came first. I was cheering for her. My mum didn’t come to it but I didn’t mind.

Last week Room 14 had our swimming carnival. I only got splashed once. First it was ice cold like an ice cube, freezing. Then it started to warm up. I did a handshake with Tom. Everyone had to do the piggyback race. I think Tom and I came 4th. I really liked the underwater swim.

THE BIG DAY

Last week on Thursday Room 14 had our swimming carnival. We got changed and ready for the carnival. When we got to the pool I was excited. We had to sit on our towel.

The races that I did were a kickboard race and an underwater race. The best one was the kickboard race because I won.

My family were there to watch me. They were very proud of me. I was so happy at the swimming carnival. I saw Mr Potaka and lots of parents came to the swimming carnival. When I got out of the pool I was freezing.

I can’t wait until its next year when it is the swimming carnival again.

Last week on Thursday Room 14 had the Pohutukawa Syndicate Swimming Carnival. I went in the starfish, over arm, underwater, kickboard, piggyback race and more.

I felt cold when I hopped out. We had to bring two towels because one was to sit on and one was to wrap yourself warm. I felt cold.

At the end some people wanted to have some free time. I want to have some free time next time. I want to have another swimming carnival whatever class I am in next year.
